Privacy Policy

This page explains what data Timedecimal.com collects, who we share it with, and the rights you have to control it. The short version: we run the calculator entirely in your browser and only collect anonymous analytics + AdSense data.

1. Who we are

Timedecimal.com (“Timedecimal”, “we”, “us”) is a free web tool operated by an independent publisher. For privacy questions, contact hello@timedecimal.com.

2. What data we collect

We collect two categories of data:

  1. Calculator inputs and outputs. The numbers you type into a calculator stay in your browser. We do not transmit them to any server. They may be temporarily stored in localStorage on your device so the page can recover state after a refresh.
  2. Anonymous usage analytics. When you load a page, our analytics provider (Google Analytics 4) records the page URL, the referrer, your approximate location (country/city), device type, browser, and aggregated engagement metrics. None of this identifies you personally.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and the browser’s local storage for three purposes:

  • Functional — remembering your last-used rounding mode and accepted cookie consent.
  • Analytics — Google Analytics 4 sets a _ga cookie to count unique visitors over time.
  • Advertising — Google AdSense places cookies that may be used to serve more relevant ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

You can clear cookies in your browser settings at any time. Doing so will reset your preferences but will not break the calculator.

4. Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on tool and article pages (we do not show ads on legal pages such as this one). As a third-party vendor, Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.

For Google’s privacy and terms, see Google’s Advertising Privacy & Terms.

5. Google Analytics 4

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and which need improvement. GA4 stores anonymized event data including scroll depth, page-load time, and calculator usage events. IP addresses are anonymized before storage. For Google’s privacy practices, see the Google Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the GA opt-out browser add-on or by enabling Do Not Track in your browser.

6. What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your personal data.
  • We don’t use email retargeting.
  • We don’t store calculator inputs on a server.
  • We don’t require account registration.

7. Children’s privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.

8. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are in the EU/EEA, the UK, or California, you have rights including: the right to know what data we collect, the right to access, the right to deletion, and the right to opt out of personalized advertising. To exercise any of these, email hello@timedecimal.com with the subject line “Privacy request.” We respond within 30 days.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes are announced on the homepage for at least 14 days.
